Founded
in the 19th century Taylor Smith & Co was created to provide
port services for vessels crossing the Indian Ocean on their
way to Europe and the Asia Pacific regions.

Taylor Smith & Co Ltd has acquired internationally recognized
expertise and know-how and offers a repair and maintenance
service adapted to all categories of ships. The company prides
itself on its ability to constantly adapt in order to keep
pace with change and currently operates two Dry Docks and
Repair Berths, as well as the only Travel Lift on the island.

Dry
Docking
- The Stevenson
Dry Dock – 130x18 metres. Maximum permissible draft: 5
metres.
- The Hay
Dry Dock – 100x13 metres. Maximum permissible draft: 4.20
metres.
- General
maintenance of ships hulls.
- Grit Blasting
- Woodwork
repairs.
- High-pressure
water cleaning.
- Servicing
of life-rafts (CSM).
- Overhaul
of main engines and auxiliaries.
- Overhauling
of sea-valves.
- Propeller
shaft survey.
- Flaw detection
tests.
- Ultra-sonic
testing.
- Piping
works, pipe repairs and steel renewal (coded welders-BV).
- Rewinding
of electric motors.
Travel Lift
The
Travel Lift has a lifting capacity of 200 tonnes and can handle
al types of vessel/craft, not exceeding 200 tonnes and having a
maximum beam of 8.75 meters.
The
Travel Lift provides the same services as Dry Docking, with a better
optimization of time in relation to the:
- Accessibility
to the underwater hull.
- Re-launching
of the vessel after repairs.

Thierry
Betuel

Captain
Thierry Betuel has been leading the company for the past
15 years. He is a certified Master Mariner Class 1 (UK)
and has successfully grown the business to becoming a reference
in the industry and the region.
He has
led his team in a number of challenging salvage operations
including F.V Victory 1, MSC Katie and F.V Norse Pride.
His expertise, knowledge and field experience are key to
the success of the business.

Wan
Customer Care and Marketing Manager |
Eric
Wan, since his childhood has been among Taylor Smith &
Co. Ltd. - Marine Division, as his father is an ex-employee
of the company. He holds a Bsc in Management from Beijing
University. He Can speak fluently Mandarin, Taiwanese, French,
English and Spanish. He Had professional training in Taiwan
(Jong Shyn shipyard), Spain (Repnaval & Zamakona shipyards)
and Portugal (Lisnave & Viana Do Castello shipyards).
Eric Started working with the Engineering Cluster in mid
2000 and then came to Taylor Smith & Co. Ltd. - Marine
Division till now, as the Customer Care & Marketing
Manager.

Dwarka
Steel Repairs Manager |
Brambaduth.
Dwarka worked as draughtsman at Sotramon Ltd and as Workshop
Supervisor at Clement Valaydon Engineering. He joined Taylor
Smith & Co. Ltd as Wokshop Supervisor in the Engineering
Division and was then promoted as Deputy Workshop Manager.
& Steel Repairs Manager at the Marine Division. Brambaduth
has an experience of 21 yrs in the field of engineering
and marine related works. He is certified in ASNT Level
II for Ultrasonic Testing, Magnetic Particle Testing, Radiographic
Testing and Liquid Penetrant Testing

Rochecouste
Dry Dock Manager |
Pierre
Yves Rocheccouste has 15 years experience as navigation
officer and captain on various ships. He has a certificate
in 'Gestion D'Entreprise" and "Techniques Commerciales".
Pierre Yves joined Taylor Smith & Co. Ltd - Marine Division
in 1995.Since then he is the Dry Dock Manager and Liferaft
Inspector.
